The “RUN FOR AUTISM TIRANA 2023” marathon took place this morning, with all participants  running  5  kilometers around  our  capital’s  artificial  lake.

This autism  awareness tournament was hosted during the “Week of Italian Culture in Tirana” with the assistance of the Municipality of Tirana, the Italian Embassy in Tirana, and Progetti Filippide, with  assistance from the  Sports University of Tirana.

During the opening ceremony, the marathon was greeted by the following:

  • The President of  the “Progetto Filippide”  Foundation, Mr. Nicola  Pintus
  • The Italian  Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Fabrizio  Bucci
  • The Rector of the Sports University of Tirana, Prof.Dr. Agron  Kasa
  • The President of the Albanian  Athletics  Federation, Mr. Taulant  Strmasi
  • The Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj, thanked all participants and encouraged the implementation  of  autism  awareness

Thank you to the entire Sports University of Tirana team that participated in this marathon, especially students Ambra, Marina, Kostandin, Kledian, Klaiv, and Klevi, who already work with  unique  children  and  their  families in collaboration  with  Progetto  Filippide  Albania.
