🇦🇱🤝🇮🇹 JOINT PROGRAM LAUNCHED – DOUBLE DEGREE “MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SPORTS SCIENCES”
đź’˘The Sports University of Tirana and the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” (Italy) have marked a significant step in strengthening international academic cooperation by launching a Joint Program—a double degree Master of Science in “Sports Sciences”—to be implemented by the Faculty of Movement Sciences.
The launch ceremony took place as part of the third edition of the “Italian Sport in the World Day,” an initiative promoted by the Italian Embassy in Tirana. Attendees included the Italian Ambassador to Tirana, Mr. Marco Alberti; the Rector of the Sports University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Agron Kasa; and Prof. Piero Sestili, Dean of the Faculty of Motor Sciences at the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo.”

During the event, Prof. Dr. Agron Kasa and Prof. Piero Sestili presented the new joint program, outlining its objectives, the opportunities it offers students, and the significance of the collaboration between the two institutions in the field of sports sciences.

In his remarks, Italian Ambassador Mr. Marco Alberti emphasized the importance of sport—not only as a set of values ​​and a tool for promoting peace and development but also as a factor of economic and cultural significance. The Ambassador particularly highlighted the role of inter-university cooperation in the relationship between Albania and Italy, emphasizing that this collaboration unites young generations, creates new professional prospects, strengthens the link between scientific research and the production sector, and contributes to building the future.

The joint study program has been officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Albania via Order No. 46, dated August 19, 2026.

This program represents another significant step in the internationalization process of the Sports University of Tirana, consolidating academic cooperation with Italy and offering students new opportunities for academic training, international mobility, scientific research, and professional development in the field of sports sciences.
