Today, on the International Day of Autism, for the first time, children who suffer from an autistic spectrum disorder and are part of the Association “PROGETTO PHILIPPIDE ALBANIA” together with their parents and coaches participated in the marathon – RUN FOR AUTISM 2023 developed in Rome, Italy.
Their participation was made possible by the PROGETTO FILIPPIDE FOUNDATION, which after several years of work with these children around the world, as well as in close cooperation and with the support of the SPORTS UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA, now develops its activity in Tirana through ” PROGETTO PHILIPPIDE ALBANIA” right next to the premises of our university.
The exceptional hospitality in the Italian capital gave these special children not only the opportunity to run and compete in this unique marathon, but also to show their Albanian cultural and folklore values.
A special thanks goes to Mrs. Xhoana Nokaj – head of Progetto Filippide Albania, teacher Mrs. Violeta Gjoni as well as the students of the Sports University of Tirana Ambra, Marina, Kostandin, Kledian, Klaivi, Klevi for their commitment and hard work with these wonderful children.
