The Rector

Agron Kasa is the Rector of the Sports University of Tirana from 2020 onwards.
He completed his studies in Physical Education and Sports Science and is a "Doctor of Science" in Physical Activity, as well as holding the title of "Professor" since 2015. Lecturer of Theory and Methodology of Sports Training since 1987 and following.
Over the years, he has held the following institutional positions:

• Head of the Department of Professional and Educational Sciences.
• Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Activity.
• Scientific associate of the Institute of Sciences.
• Member of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports at the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation.
• Member of the Academic Senate and current Chairman of the Academic Senate of the Sports University of Tirana.
• Member of CANFITPRO (Canadian Fitness Professionals).

He is the author of scientific articles in indexed journals, university textbooks, course programs, physical education curricula and sports at various levels of education.
He has lectured in national and international institutions and congresses.
He has been a member and coordinator in national and international scientific research projects such as:

• Tempus Project BALKANSPORT "Harmonizing Sport Science Curricula in the Balkans in the EU Perspective";
• Tempus Project SPEED "Sport Professions - Education, Employment, Development in the Balkan Region";
• Erasmus+ EntrAL Project "Entrepreneurial skills for a modern education in Albania".

Over the years he has acquired a specific expertise in the field of training and sports science, developing his research in the field of training and in the study of the effects of physiological load on health and sports performance.
